Chrissy Gardiner, the knitwear artist behind Gardiner Yarn
Works share the inspiration for her Circular Logic shawl..."I
became overly interested in this circular lace stitch pattern last year after
swatching it to use on a pair of knee-highs. I ended up using it on said
knee-highs and it just about did me in. I decided that I would give it a second
chance, hoping it would behave better when used on a flat piece (rather than in
the round with calf shaping).
As you can see, the circles behaved themselves beautifully,
although you really need to pay attention while you’re knitting this pattern. I
can find at least one row of ovals amongst my circles where I repeated a row I
shouldn’t have. This poor sample shawl also survived having a full glass of red
wine dumped on it. Not only is it beautiful, but it’s got character as well!"
