Laura Aylor's Moonstruck is revisiting the rectangular stole - a bit shorter than All the Shades of Truth but easily modified to be a different length. The middle is worked first using intarsia and then the two borders are knit on in the round.

A word about yardage - Iíve suspected this for a long time, but it became very apparent during the Sunstruck KAL that yardage used for garter stitch items varies wildly from knitter to knitter. My theory is that we tend to measure our gauge differently because garter stitch is so very stretchy. Iíve tried to give good estimates with a reasonable bit of padding. In that same vein - a word about measurements: once again due to garter stitchís stretchiness, once itís off the blocking board and being worn, it will tend to grow a bit lengthwise/shrink a bit widthwise.

Yarn: Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light (100% merino, 420 yards/384 meters)
Estimated yardage requirements:

Color 1 (cobalt blue in sample) - 275 yards
Color 2 (light grey in sample) - 420 yards (includes thin inner border)
Color 3 (darker grey in sample) - 275 yards
Color 4 (dark blue in sample) - 420 yards (outer border only)
Needles: US 5 (3.75mm)
Gauge: 22 sts and 44 rows = 4" in garter stitch
