Untitled 2
Show off your favorite bright palette of colors in
HeartStrings' simple yet effective lace scarf pattern Colorful Splendor
Lace Scarf. Dramatic colors in hand painted yarn enhance the bias
movement of the stockinette-based lace in the main stitch area of the scarf.
The scarf is knitted from end to end in one piece (i.e. no
seams to sew or graft, and no stitches to pick up). Dainty look-alike scalloped
edgings begin and end the scarf. The outer border is knit as-you-go in a
textured garter-based lace that sets off the main area with a visual mixing of
colors.
Allow 325 yards of laceweight yarn for blocked measurements of
8" x 58" scarf, or desired length and width with yardage adjustment. Average of
7 stitches/inch over combination of border and main patterns, size US 5 / 3.75
mm needles suggested. Charted and written stitch instructions.
Pictured model was knitted with Schaefer Yarns Andrea
100% silk in a palette of gold/rust/brown/fuchsia to celebrate an autumn
splendor of color.
