Gauge: 8 sts/inch in Stockinette
Abbreviations
sts: stitches
k2tog: knit two stitches together as if they were a single
stitch.
ssk: slip one stitch, and then slip the next. Insert left
needle into the front loops of the slipped stitches and knit them together from
this position (through the back loops)
slip 1: slip 1 stitch purlwise
ktbl: knit through the back loop
Knitting the Cuff:
Using Color B (Triforce), cast-on 64stitches and join in
the round. Divide the stitches evenly on 1 circ, 2 circs or DPNs.
Work in Chart 1 (below) across 64 sts for 12 rounds
changing to Color A when indicated in chart. Repeat Chart 1 8 times per round. Chart 1

Knitting the Leg:
Using Color A (Link), work in stockinette stitch until the
leg measure 4 inches from the top.
Working the Heel Flaps (worked over the first 32 stitches):Follow the Triforce Chart for the Triforce heel
using Color B for the Triforce and Color A for the background. Triforce Chart

End the heel flap on a wrong-side row. Time to turn the heel!
Turning the Heel:
Row 1 [RS]: K17, ssk, k1, turn work.
Row 2 [WS]: Sl1, p3, p2tog, p1, turn work.
Row 3 [RS]: Sl1, k4, ssk, k1, turn work.
Row 4 [WS]: Sl1, p5, p2tog, p1, turn work.
Row 5 [RS]: Sl1, k6, ssk, k1, turn work.
Row 6 [WS]: Sl1, p7, p2tog, p1, turn work.
Row 7 [RS]: Sl1, k8, ssk, k1, turn work.
Row 8 [WS]: Sl1, p9, p2tog, p1, turn work.
Row 9 [RS]: Sl1, k10, ssk, k1, turn work.
Row 10 [WS]: Sl1, p11, p2tog, p1, turn work.
Row 11 [RS]: Sl1, k12, ssk, k1, turn work.

Picking Up Gusset:
Round 1: Knit across heel stitches. Pick up 13 sts along
left side of sock. Pick up and knit one stitch between the heel-flap and instep
stitches. Work stockinette stitch across 32 Instep Sts. Pick up and knit one
stitch between the instep stitches and the heel stitches. Pick up 13 sts along
right side of sock. (44 sts)
Round 2: Knit across heel sts, ktbl of gusset sts, work
stockinette stitch over 32 instep sts, ktbl of gusset sts.
Working the Gusset Stitches:
Round 1: Work to last 3 heel stitches, k2tog, k1. Work
Stockinette stitch across 32 instep sts.
Round 2: K1, ssk, knit to end of heel sts. Work Stockinette
Stitch across 32 Heel stiches.
Repeat Rounds 1 and 2 until 32 heel sts remain
Working the Foot:
Continue working stitches in the round in stockinette
stitch until the foot measures approximately 2.75” less than desired finished
length.
Work in Chart 2 across 64 sts for 12 rounds.
Repeat Chart 2 8 times per round.

Decreasing for Toe:
Round 1: k1, ssk, knit to last 3 heel sts, k2tog, k1; k1,
ssk, knit to last 3 instep sts, k2tog, k1.
Round 2: knit
Repeat Rounds 1 and 2 an additional 6x.
Then repeat Round 1 until 12 stitches remain.
The sock now has a total of 12 stitches: 6 instep and 6
sole stitches.
Grafting the Toe:
Cut yarn, leaving a 12-14 inch” tall tail. With yarn
needle, graft toe using Kitchener stitch (see page 6 for instructions).
Kitchener Stitch
Make sure that your toe sts on divided equally between two
needles.
Hold the sock so that the yarn tail is on your right.
Anchor the first two stitches as follows: insert the yarn
needle into the first stitch on the front needle as if to purl and pull through,
leaving the stitch on the needle. Then, insert the yarn needle into the first
stitch on the back needle as if to knit and pull through leaving the stitch on
the needle.
Step 1: Insert the yarn needle into the first stitch on the
front needle as if to knit, pull through and slide the stitch off the needle.
Insert the yarn needle into the second stitch on the front needle as if to purl
and pull through, leaving the stitch on the needle.
Step 2: Insert the yarn needle into the first stitch on the
back needle as if to purl, pull through and slide the stitch off the needle.
Insert the yarn needle into the second stitch as if to knit and pull through,
leaving the stitch on the needle.
Repeat Steps 1 and 2 until all stitches have been grafted.
When you only have 1 stitch left on each needle, you will only work the first
half of Step 1 and 2 to secure those stitches. Pull tight and thread yarn tail
through the Wrong Side of the sock.
Weave in ends.
Finishing:
Weave in any loose ends. Block sock by dampening sock and
gently tugging into shape. Lay flat to dry or use a sock blocker.
